About Croatia Honestly

Croatia Honestly started out as a blog about Croatia in English. It was a pet project which Andrea launched after she decided to leave her successful academic career and return to Croatia.

Croatia Honestly is a collection of articles about Croatian traditions, customs and various topics from everyday life. It helps travellers understand and navigate the local mentality. It provides Croatians living abroad a connection with their motherland. It's a place where Croatia fans  from all over the world come to bond with each other.

About Andrea

Andrea Pisac is a fiction, travel and food writer. She has a PhD in anthropology from Goldsmiths College, University of London, UK. She received many awards for promoting Croatia and its cultural heritage worldwide. 

About the cookbooks

Andrea's first cookbook was a collection of traditional Croatian desserts, cakes, and biscuits. She meticulously collected the recipes, researched and wrote culinary stories for each sweet and baked everything in her kitchen. Croatian Desserts is a much praised cookbook for its detailed step-by-step method and heartfelt stories.

Andrea's second cookbook Croatian Classics followed in October 2021. This ultimate collection of best Croatian dishes from our home kitchen features 100 savoury meals and 700 images. Andrea's signature teaching style through a step-by-step method shines again while all ingredients are expressed in both metric and imperial systems.
